How do we have happy, healthy relationships in our lives?
The first thing we must do is be GRATEFUL for them.
“I thank my God every time I remember you.” (Philippians 1:3, NIV)
The second thing we must do is PRAY WITH JOY FOR THE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE!
The third thing we must do is we must EXPECT THE BEST FROM PEOPLE IN MY LIFE!
“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, NIV)
People disappoint. They can have bad days and be mean, harsh and unkind. Just like us on occasion.
When someone hurts us, we can begin to expect the worst from them, but we must believe the best about GOD IN THEM!
Paul did three things to bring out the best in people:
- He believed in people. “I am confident …”
Do you give the people in your life confidence or tear them down?
If you see one of your children fall, isn't your first response to say, “I know you can do this! Keep going!” God wants us to do this with people in our lives. You can’t change unless someone believes in you.
Maybe you are one of these people who says, "I just tell it like it is!" Don’t “Tell it like it is" - tell it like it could be. That’s faith!
