Jesus is Knocking - Will You Answer?

As school starts this season of the year, I thought it would be good to offer a couple of prayers this week that you could use to ask the Lord to bless your children or grandchildren. Please mean these prayers from your heart!

Pray:
Lord, I lift up (children/grandchildren) to YOU and ask that You would bring godly friends and role models into their lives. Give them the wisdom and guidance they need to choose good and godly friends. Help my (children/grandchildren) to never sacrifice their relationship with You in order to gain acceptance or popularity.

Give us Your Holy Spirit of discernment to guide us in how to guide them in how to make good decisions. I pray that You would take anyone out of their lives who is not a good influence or change that person into Your likeness. Your Word says that, "He who walks with the wise will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed." (Proverbs 13:20) Please don't let my (children/grandchildren) be a companion of fools! Enable them to walk with wise friends and not have to experience the destruction that comes from being associated with fools.

Take away loneliness or any person in (children/grandchildren)'s life that could hinder them from developing into the person you want them to be. In Jesus's name I pray that you would teach them the true meaning of friendship. Make them the kind of friend who attracts the right friends, for Your glory.

Show them that You are the closest Friend they could ever have. When they are feeling rejected or hurt by an earthly friendship, remind them through Your Spirit that You favor them. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed (children/grandchildren) with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ!" (Ephesians 1:3)
